Court of Nerds Episode 17: DADTECH
Wednesday Jun 10, 2015
Wednesday Jun 10, 2015
It's a new week, and that means an all new Court of Nerds!
Back by popular demand, Grant takes on Tech. LASERS? A pizza box that turns into a PROJECTOR? It's the return of Grant's #DADTECH. Seriously, listen. It's amazing.
The college educated Nate covers Games, and drools over the official Fallout 4 trailer, Amazon's foray into the gaming world, and E3. Yes, he even sneaks in enough Natetendo goodness than you could shake a Wiimote at.
Jess discusses Marvel's Secret Wars, the Comic Book History of Comics, and the best thing about Convergence.
Gregg doesn't watch TV, but he talked about Daredevil's Season 2 casting, some potentially great news about the upcoming Sandman adaptation, and Uwe Boll's YouTube Bonanza.

Wednesday Jun 03, 2015
Gregg took on Games, and about vomited all over hisself over FALLOUT 4 BEING OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED, GUISE! OH MY GOD. The best show on G4 is going to be returning (in a way) for Bethesda's E3 conference. Also, Dark Souls 3 might make an appearance. Also also, Lego Worlds will not have microtransactions. And hopefully, not dongs.
Droo was on Movies and TV, and discussed Disney crack at the Avengers, Eddie Redmayne getting cast in the Potterverse, and Charleze Theron possibly being involved in the new Captain Marvel movie.
In Tech, Nate talked about NSA spying program expires (kinda), Netflix tests the advertising waters, and why you should NEVER USE A VPN.
Grant blathered about this week's pulls, Lumberjanes, and why DC has officially lost its damned mind. YES, BLATHERED. COME AT ME STOYE.
Stay tuned! Later this week, we talk to West Michigan's premiere comic book artist Andy Budnik about the industry, and why he and Grant have a total bromance going on. IT'S PICK ON GRANT DAY, GUYS.

This week on Court of Nerds!
Droo talked about Periscope being ported to Android, and might have hinted at a future live cast (wink wink nudge nudge). And it's no secret that the tech industry is a bit of a sausagefest, so the news that women are becoming a bigger part of new start-ups is awesome! Remember when we talked to Jonathan Mayberry, and he scared us with tales of a dystopian future of dark-tech? Well, the US Military kind of has that technology already. Yikes!Gregg discussed the Supergirl pilot leak, and why this might become a "new thing" for TV networks. Also! Legend of Conan is looking better and better, and bloodier and bloodier. And what the heck, Netflix? YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE.
Grant lamented the awesomeness of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #46, and wonders why most other Turtles media kind of stinks. And a SEQUEL to Fight Club? COULD THAT EVEN WORK? Probably, and probably well. Much unlike Marvel's Ultimate End.
Natetendo returned in full force and blathered about Nintendo. Again. But it was less bad than usual. Honestly!

This Week on the Court of Neeeerrrrrrds!
Things kick off with Grant in full-on Dad Humor mode (we're so sorry), and talking tech: is 3D printed skin cool or sci-fi gross? Who wants to play their Spotify list in a Starbucks? And how in the world is Reddit going to police itself?
Droo dives into the worlds of television and movies with some geeky-great discussions on the future of Arrow and the Flash, how the Guardians of the Galaxy will come into play in the greater MCU, and oh my gosh Michael Bay continues to tease a horrible sequel by potentially adding Krang...
Natetendo was unable to join the Court (someone's got to save those orphans from flaming school buses...), and so our buddy Jess came in to talk comics: the Infinite Loop examines time travel, the Fade Out features Brubaker and Philips, and did you know about the Fight Club sequel comic ZOMG
Gregg had games, and it involved some game involves witches that do something or other. Whatever. And can a brother get some Red Dead Remption on a PC?
Thank God! A guest to break up the insanity!
We were extra fortunate to get GR Comic Con co-head honcho Mark Hodges to come back for another chat, and chat we did! Mark talked the upcoming GRASP Expo this summer, the expanded 2015 GR Comic con, and dropped not one, not two, but THREE EXCLUSIVES for the GR Comic Con! Wanna know what they are? Listen in!

Court of Nerds Episode 13: the Worst Episode
Thursday May 14, 2015
Thursday May 14, 2015
In the latest episode, the gang goes off the rails quite early.
First up, Natetendo (or as he's now known, Recent College Graduate Natetendo) discusses the renewal of ABC's Agent Carter series, the addition of Martin Freeman to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Brad Bird's earth-shaking revelation of how he's currently working on "the Incredibles 2." Also, apparently London Has Fallen is a thing. That has been shot. And will be released. Blech.
Gregg then has his Witcher 3 gasm, but for good reason. Fallout 4 gets discussed a bit, as does the newest addition to the already crowded Assassin's Creed stable.
Droo spreads fear and panic as he discusses the Verizon acquisition of AOL, the 3D printing of a ****ing jet engine, and the future of copper wires in the computer industry.
Grant mops up with the impending release of the newest Howard the Duck, slobbers over the penultimate issue of Django/Zorro, and nearly has kittens over how DC's editorial are making a shart soup of its comics continuity.
No guest this week, because who'd want to talk to these loons when they're acting like this?

Court of Nerds Episode 12b: Bonus Templesmith!
Thursday May 14, 2015
Thursday May 14, 2015
art 2 of the Ben Templesmith interview! - Grant and Gregg continue the Templesmith interview, and things get REAL. He talks about favorite monsters, future superhero plans, and other tidbits from the comic world that you may or may not have previously considered.
Again, the language gets a little salty (GRANT IS A POTTY MOUTH), but it's a wonderfully candid interview chock-full of giggles and deep thoughts.

This Week On The Court Of Nerds!
Gregg spreads the horror of texting and driving's future, mourns the attack of Spotify by Apple (GROOVESHARK: GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN), and talks of JetBlue's association with Amazon Prime.
Droo breaks down some new Star Wars revelations, rejoices in the return of the film right for three Marvel Knights, and bashes David Ayers' interpretation of Harley Quinn in the new Suicide Squad film.
Nate praises the gods of Rock Band, Nintendo pops up (SO SURPRISINGLY) in a new Kickstarter campaign, and discusses how Steam made a horrible decision over the whole "Modgate" fiasco.
Grant gushes on the most recent Free Comic Book Day, the pulse-pounding conclusion in Batman 40, and gets irritated with the Convergence/Secret Wars BS that is clogging comic shop shelves
We still don't know why he wanted to chat with us, but thank God he did!
This week we had the good fortune to talk with award-winning artist and creator Ben Templesmith! We talked about his past works, current ambitions, and the ins-and-outs of the comics distribution industry.
It was absolutely fascinating...and too big to be kept in one episode - Look for Part 2 later this week!

In this special episode, we junk the traditional format and go all Avengers 2, all episode long!
Thursday May 14, 2015
Thursday May 14, 2015
Droo discusses the Clear App destroying your social media history, and why a robot was arrested. Also, you can now look for the Loch Ness Monster thanks to the Google.
Grant talked about how much he hated the Fantastic Four trailer, and why he's cautiously optimistic about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Also! Agents of SHIELD has a few spin-off shows planned.
Newcomer Jess filled in for Nate to talk about (not Nintendo for once) what's new in comics! And she actually wants to come back! Yay!
Gregg discussed how awesome the upcoming Mad Max Game looks, and why Rock Band 4 is looking better than ever. And Alan Wake 2 was almost made. SERIOUSLY. But it's not happening. Sorry.
Here's the part where other people get to talk, too!
Gregg and Grant were joined by the awesome Greg Kasavin from Supergiant Games! They gushed over Bastion and Transistor, and discussed the art, music, and story of both games, and how the smaller development team was able to craft such masterpieces.
